Shoe Sizing Systems
Shoe sizes are measured differently around the world. US sizes differ between men, women and children. UK sizes are typically 1–1.5 sizes smaller than US men's. EU sizes (used across Europe and most of Asia) are based on foot length in Paris points (⅔ cm each). Mondopoint (cm) is the most precise — it directly measures foot length.
Size System Differences
| Note | Detail |
|---|---|
| Women's vs Men's US | Women's US sizes are typically 1.5 larger than men's (US Women's 8 = US Men's 6.5) |
| UK vs US (men) | UK size is usually 1 less than US men's size |
| EU sizing | EU sizes run in ⅔ cm increments (Paris points) |
| Half sizes | Not all brands offer half sizes in EU/UK — round to nearest whole |
Measuring Foot Length
Stand on paper, trace your foot, and measure from heel to longest toe in centimetres. Add 0.5–1 cm for comfort and look up the corresponding shoe size. Foot length (cm) is the most accurate basis for international conversions.
