Image Resizer

Resize any image to exact pixel dimensions or by percentage directly in your browser. Supports JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF. No upload to server — your images stay private. Download the resized image instantly with a single click.

How to Resize an Image

Drop your image into the upload area or click to browse. Choose Pixels to enter exact width and height, or Percentage to scale proportionally. With Lock aspect ratio enabled, changing one dimension automatically updates the other. Select an output format, then click Resize Image. Preview both versions side by side and click Download to save.

Maintaining Aspect Ratio

The aspect ratio is the proportional relationship between width and height. Keeping it locked prevents stretching or squishing — for example, a 1200×800 image (3:2 ratio) resized to 600 px wide will automatically set height to 400 px. Unlock it only when you need to fit a specific frame, such as a square avatar or banner with fixed dimensions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What image formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF are accepted as input. Output can be saved as PNG, JPG or WebP. For images with transparency (e.g. logos), choose PNG output to preserve the transparent background.

Does resizing reduce image quality?

Downscaling (making smaller) generally preserves visual quality. Upscaling beyond the original resolution interpolates pixels and will look soft or pixelated. Always start from the highest resolution original you have.

Can I resize multiple images at once?

The tool handles one image at a time. For batch resizing, process each image separately. Desktop tools like GIMP, Photoshop or the command-line tool ImageMagick support batch operations.

What is the best resolution for web images?

Hero images: 1920×1080 px. Blog thumbnails: 1200×630 px. Product photos: 800×800 px. Always compress after resizing — use our Image Compressor to cut file size without visible quality loss.
