What Is Grade 1 Braille?
Grade 1 Braille (also called uncontracted Braille) is a letter-for-letter representation of English text using a 6-dot cell system. Each character is encoded as a unique pattern of raised dots arranged in two columns of three rows. This translator uses Unicode Braille characters (U+2800–U+28FF) so the output displays visually in any modern browser.

How the Dot Grid Works
Each Braille cell has 6 positions numbered 1–6 (top-to-bottom, left column first, then right column). The visual dot grid below your result highlights which dots are raised (shown in teal) for each character, making it easy to understand the physical Braille representation.
